Rear Window
Someone left the chair out in the snow. Yes not much is happening in my neighbour’s garden today. Just as I manage to get more mobile the snow falls and confines me once more to the couch with the only opportunity for a snap being from the window.

Ice art from the 2012 London Ice Sculpting Festival in Canary Land London. This year’s show drew mega crowds but didn’t quite cut it. What happened to the team events from last year that gave us the magnificent ice people of Portugal?
Happy New Year
In front of University College Hospital at Euston in London on a mid-winter’s day, 2012. Buses resting on a stand before they set off to fleece the citizens of London with the annual “fare rise” ripoff. A single journey (just one stop even) on one of these beasts could cost you £2.10. The fares on London Transport have risen by 30-40% since 2009. And they talk about bankers! Let’s add the Mayor Of London to that list!
Can’t See the Piano for the Trees
St Giles High Street and the new Renzo Piano construction “with winter gardens on every floor and over 17,000 sq ft of roof terraces. More than just an office building it’s a workplace (sic). Connecting people to the outdoors” … and so the promotional copy goes. Maybe it’s time the urbanscape started connecting the outdoors to the people. We could just skip the building bit.

Feng Shang Princess
Season’s Greetings from downtown London. After a heavy snow storm yesterday the Feng Shang Princess floating restaurant on Regent’s Canal radiates a certain warmth. Shopping stopped for the day and so did the trains and planes and automobiles. It felt like Christmas.
Two Seasons in One
Seasons changing in London. With the early snow this year, some trees are still shedding their autumn leaves creating a vibrant contrast to the freshly falling snow.
